建築から写真へ、写真から建築へ
私たちが初めて出会ったのは1983年のことで、二人とも東京の大学で建築の勉強をしている時だった。
1991～92年にメキシコとイタリアへ撮影旅行に出かけて以来、仕事も一緒にするようになり、
作品は写真と建築という形で表現してきた。
世界各地で撮られた写真は、あるときはインスタレーションとして展示スペースを覆い、
あるときは建具や壁に埋め込まれて、建築になった。
そして建築の思考は再び写真にインスピレーションを与えて、撮影旅行に出かける。
私たちはそのようなゆっくりとした創作循環の中で、精神的な豊かさを体感する場が生まれることを
期待している。

Photographs and architecture
We met for the first time in 1983, when both of us were studying architecture at a university in Tokyo.
We naturally came to work together after we went to Mexico and Italy on photography taking trips
from 1991 to 1992 and since then, we have been expressing our visions through the forms of
photographs and architecture. We covered exhibition spaces with our photographs taken in many
parts of the world as installation art. We fitted our photographs into doors and walls and thus those
photographs have become important factors of architecture. Our thoughts about architecture inspire
us and bring us back to taking photographs again, and we go on another photography trip. We expect
that a place, where you sense the spiritual satisfaction, should be born in such slow creation cycle.
